Minnewaukan advice

Recommended Posts

I'll be staying in Minnewaukan in early March (7-9) with my sons, nephew, and my dad. We can't afford a guide so we are finding our own spots to fish. I am looking for advice on how to fish the flats and possibly Pelican. I've read some things that say to fish the sunken roads, humps, etc. but I'm not sure how to locate them? I do have a H2O GPS, but the chip I have doesn't show a lot of structure on it when I'm looking at the flats area. It makes it look like a big bowl which I know it's not. We would be looking for walleye, perch, and pike in that order. Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance ~piker

I just got back from a 3 day trip and we also stayed in Minnewaukan. Fished the West end of the lake really hard and didn't have much luck. Finding the road shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just look at the coordinates on the free map iffwalleyes linked and get on the exact minutes and seconds of it. It runs pretty much due East/West. Also there are several holes around the sunken road. You may have some trouble getting around if they get more snow. There is only one small road plowed on that end and it really doesn't cover much. We were able to drive off the road but barely. Good luck.
