More Sleds But Too Hot !

Put on 101 miles yesterday (Saturday 1/16/10) saw over twice as many sleds as the previous week ... 197 in 101 miles.

Trails were really getting rough in the afternoon. Hit 43 degrees in the Western U.P. and the snow was soft and getting thin in a lot of place. Need more snow and soon !

Ran into a number of riders who did not have their Michigan Trail Permits on their sleds. That error could have cost them each $175 for that violation......... but, cut them all a break and sent them to where they could get them..... I must be getting soft.

Actually, I'm looking for compliance to get the money into the system so the clubs can have decent equipment and keep the trails as good as possible for riders. If I was into writing tickets I'd be a meter reader. I buy one out of my own pocket and put it on the agency sled, even though I am not required to have one, so I really don't have much sympathy for people who don't have them.

Think (pray for) snow... there should be a lot of good riding for the next two months. Be Safe !!!!

Why couldn't you have been a highway patrol in my neck of the woods 20 years ago?!? Kidding aside, you can't help it that you have a heart. Good to hear that there will be a few more compliant riders, and some more money in the system to help with the upkeep. Ya, I'll be prayin' for more snow too.
