identifying weeds

I'm not very good at identifying weeds in lakes. Are there any websites that explain the different varieties and what fish are attaracted to them? I fish primarily in the Mississippi (mostly mud) and don't get to fish lakes that often. When I do, I'd like to have a little more knowledge of what to look for. I realize 90% of it is experience but any advice would be great.

The DNR used to have a weed ID publication, and perhaps they still do. I didn't do my own search, but why not start with their HSOforum and see what you find?

As you say, it is an experience thing. So many of us look for certain "kinds" of weeds without really knowing the names of the growths. Good luck.
