Anyone fish Reelfoot Lake TN?

Has anyone ever fished Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee? I was thinking of a spring break late March. Everthing I read says lots of crappies at that time. My kids (boys 11, and 15) love fishing and I'm trying to go far enough South to be warm, but not have to fly. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

main thing is duck hunting ends last of january

crappie bite starts getting good right after

always stay with friends when we go and hunt or fish now, have couple we stayed at 6- 7 years ago and will look for brochures etc

best to shop online or get ahold of Chamber and they will have package to send you

called last night and its cold right now, very cold [record cold]

resorts are pretty competetive and they said to get online for pricing[owner turnover is fairly high and some brand new motels etc

I too have been thinking of checking this place out. I was going to drive the RV down after the kids get out of school, so that would be the first week in June. I am just wondering how good the fishing is ?? I have a name of a campground writen down somewhere. I think they have wild hog hunting ??

Well back from Reelfoot Lake this Sunday. We stayed at the Blue Basin Cove Bed and Breakfast. Nice place, a little too rustic for my wife, but good over all. Fished all day Monday with a guide, my 2 kids and I and all we caugth was 10 crappies. The boys (11 & 15) didn't even catch 1. From the dock they caught a dogfish and a drum. We then fished with a rental boat Tuesday and Wednesday, couple of bites. The guide took us to all the spots he had caught fish at the previous Sat. But a big rain preceded us and the fish shut off. It was wierd fishing the "woods" and between the duck blinds. All in all a good trip, just wish more fish.

Sorry to hear that. That's a bucket list lake for me...its well known for the historic black and white duck photo with thousands of birds coming off the water at once, and for some massive crappies and bluegills. Sorry to hear they weren't snapping.
