Ice fishing near dubuque

Anyone catching any fish around the dubuque area? I just cant seem to find them at all! Any help would awsome. When I went out today though there was slush about 5 feet out from the bank of the river so I didnt even get out. I think the river has risen or something and water is sitting around the edges were there is low spots and it melted the ice.

I used to fish Mud Lake north of Dubuque once in a while after O'Leary Lake got fished out in the winter.

The river may have risen, or some recent snowfall could have caused the shoreline ice to melt. Snow will drift up on the banks, and insulate the ice there enough to melt it. That is what happened on Lake Macbride, where I was this afternoon. I had to walk along the shore a while before I found firm enough ice to get on without getting my feet wet. Once I got past the slush along shore the ice was fine.
