Blood in urine?

Out hunting yesterday, when we first got out of the truck and the dog relieved himself, I noticed on the snow that his urine was very dark, I am assuming this is blood in his urine. He has been acting normal around home. This could have been going on for a while, as I only noticed it because of the fresh snow. Vet appointment is at 2pm today, anyone else experience this? FWI the hunting was slow.

This would happen with my old springer spaniel when she had a bladder infection. Her urine would start out dark and then gradually she would have a few drops that looked like blood at the end. She did well with the antibiotic and LOTS of water treatment.

Glad you are bringing him in to the vet today. Hope it goes well.

My gf took him to the vet yesterday afternoon. They pulled some blood and also took a urine sample. They were able to get him to relieve himself and said it looked ok, although it was a little cloudy. They were taking a culture overnight, so I should hear back at somepoint today. He is still acting normal, so I am not too concerned, probably just a bladder or urinary tract infection, or maybe a little dehydrated. He never seems to drink a lot of water in the winter, and now that it has gotten cold this could be a reason for it. I might have to start adding water to his dry food, or mixing in a bowl of milk once a day. That dog sure is an odd one. He NEVER drinks when we are out hunting, I've tried milk, gatorade, anyting to add to his water, and he won't touch any of it until we are done.
