eskay
Does anyone know where you can buy rollmops around the Cities? They used to be available just about anywhere around the holidays, but I'm having a hard time finding any. Have a FIL that is missing them. And I like them, too. SilverLakeBoy
IKEA has them, so do most of the seafood trucks that stop at the local bars and peddle their fish & seafood, if nothing else Byerly has to have them

eskay
Rollmops are herring wrapped around a piece of pickle.I checked IKEA and they don't carry them, and I did find them online, but the shipping is prohibitive. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled, or maybe the local grocer can order some in.

JacobMHD
Here's a recipe I found online. I might have to give it a try.rollmopsSwedish4 to 6 fillets of salt herringFilling1/2 teaspoon crushed black peppercorns 1/2 teaspoon crushed white peppercorns 1 red onion finely chopped1/4 cup finely chopped dillDressing100ml Swedish spirit vinegar 150ml water 150ml sugar 50ml tomato ketchup or chili sauce Soak the herring in lots of cold water for 10 to 12 hours or follow the directions on the package. Drain. Stir together the ingredients for the filling and spread on top of the fillets. Roll up each fillet starting from the head end; secure the rolls with toothpicks. Place the rolls in a jar or bowl. Bring the vinegar water and sugar to a boil. Let cool and flavour the dressing with tomato ketchup or chili sauce. Cover the rolls with the dressing and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving. To serve cut each roll in thin slices and garnish with red onion rings and dill sprigs.
