eric29
Im not sure if this is the right place to put this but ill try it any way. I bought a new pellet stove from my fiances dad and i was wondering if could not burn the pellets and just corn. I tried looking through all the direction and all it said is that burning anything but pellets would void the warrenty but it doesnt say that i cant. Her dad burns about 25 percent corn with his pellets with no problem so i was thinking about burning just corn bc it would be a lot cheaper than buy all those pellets.Any thoughts or pros and cons would be appreciated.Thank you
farrier
I don't know if your stove has a turner in the burn pot, but with corn burning stoves they have a turner in there that rotates to help prevent the corn from clumping together in which case it doesn't want to burn very well. My ex father-in-law had a corn burning stove and I would sit in front of it and it seemed like I would get better heat from my pellet stove. I also know he would go thru 50 lbs. every 18 hours, versus me going thru 40 lbs of wood pellets about every 32-36 hours, with the stoves feed settings on about the same speed. Moisture is also a big issue with the corn and how it burns.
