Vexilar Cold Snap Parka

Couple years ago I picked up the cold snap bibs. They work great for ice fishing and open water fishing.

Can't help but notice that the parka is another hot item. Vexilar site was sold out right away (unless you're looking for a big enough size to fit a Moose). Managed to make my way out to FF last weekend and they actually had the jackets! So I broke down and bought one. It even has the 50th year anniversary patch to make you feel extra special I guess.

Curious what other people think of the jacket? Are they too warm? Are they just right? Feels pretty heavy to me.

You'll love it! It's very warm and has lots of pockets(you can never have too many pockets)!

Great jacket for the money ... I have the old version that is all black. Except for the oversized Vexilar stiching on the back (IMO kinda obnoxious cause it covers the whole back), I love mine.

Never found myself getting cold hole hopping with it on.

If they ever redisgn, I would like to see it have an outer water & wind proof shell, with a zip in liner for insulation - that way I could use just the shell for summer fishing or warmer days on the ice.

I have two sets of the Vexilar "Cold Snap" gear. The old style, and the new. I use them in early spring, again in the fall, and all winter on the ice.

Both serve me very well, but I really like the new style the best.

The bibs are very easy to move and work in, and the access is good to inside jean pockets. Love the rear heat pack pockets in the bibs to warm the back on long sits and rides. I like the fact the rump is not padded on the bibs, as the padded seat on bibs just feels bulky to me and I only really need the knees to be well padded and protected from sharp ice.

The new double wide fleece lined collar on the Cold Snap parka is 100% draft proof, a very nice fit and warm, keeps heat in well. I like to keep my neck warm and it does this well.

I think they are a good value and preform well for the active fisherman.

I picked up the cold snap bibs on black friday 2 years ago for $50 at FF. Wish I would have picked up the parka too,it was only $50 as well! Absolutely love the bibs!
