Pelican Lake (wright county) = NO FLY ZONE

Recommended Posts

Been out there the past few evenings for the final hour or som of shooting time. I have seen a few small flocks, one wounded greenhead that swam about 100 yards away from the spread, tried to fly and went back down. It just seems like no migration has taken place and all the birds, usually seen the last 20 minutes of shooting time, are educated and know they cannot be touched if the raft up in the middle of the lake. I have heard very little shooting. I think there needs to be some winter weather to make a push, and then they will be here for only a few days.

The ducks are very stale and decoy shy out there.

I decided to drink beer tonight and sleep in tomorrow morning.

Hope to put the beat down on some Geese and Mallards in a field during the afternoon flight.

The field had geese going down into it this evening.

3/4 of a mile a way there are 1500 to 2000 mallards roosting/loafing on a private pond.

Hope they decide to feed with the geese.
