Twighlight and dominant eye

Recommended Posts

Have trained myself to shoot with both eyes open. However, tonight, at closing, drew back and sighted in on a sapling to see how bright sight pins were, and non dominant eye would take over the picture. Assuming this is due to the dominant eye trying to focus through low light conditions(the peep). Anyone else notice this? Will have to go back to "squinting" in low light I guess.

Or get a larger peep.. Thats what I did.. and I dont think it has anything to do with a dominant eye. I am right handed but shoot left as its my dom eye. But if your trying to look through a peep, your brain will switch over to the eye that can see better.. I am not using a stupidly large peep, but still can keep my groups tight and have little to no prob as it starts to get dark. The peep I am using now is called a string splitter.

I added a light to my site about 5 years ago for just this reason. Man what a difference. i dont remember the name but you can adjust the brightness depending on how dark it is.

Helped me out greatly for under 20 bucks.
