duckbuster
not once but twice yesterday. Way northern Minny, raining like all get out and fog. Can't see but maybe 30 yards out and here they come. Or at least we think they are. The unmistaken whistle of the Goldeneye. Where are they I ask my brother-in-law. I don't know but they are close. Look left, look right, look left and then BANG there they are, right in front of us. By the type the guns go off they are showing us nothing but roughly 20 sets of tail feathers. Big Beauties!!About 30 minutes later with brother-in-law in the blind 10 yards to my left is on the calls looking toward his left. So I'm thinking these birds are coming hot and tight around his corner. Next thing I know I hear a whistle to my right and here are about 30 big Bills floating across our set. Once again when we pull up they are saying good bye to us. FRUSTRATED or what!!!We ended up OK though with 8 birds. I think they are starting to push south.
