What normally works best for you. Itasca County have a numbers of lakes? Fish Trout Lake?

You An early riser? Start fishing 30-45 min before sunrise Casting from shore look for wakes or any surfacing. Cast out there to the side of thr wakes bobber set 3' down, small split, #8 hook and 2 1/2" worth of nightcrawler. Or cast spoons - small little Cleo, panther martins, mepps - whatever ya got.

Fish from shore only or got a canoe? Could obviously cover more ground - troll as you go.

Admit I'm a novice when it comes to fishing trout lakes up north so take my advice with a grain of salt. FM also has a North Shore section. I'd post in there too.

Good luck and please come back with a report and photos!

There are a handful of scattered trout lakes here... Mostly rainbow lakes, almost all rely on annual or bi-annual stocking as natural reproduction is scarce, but some are stocked for browns and splake and brook trout. Lake trout get most of the focus here, but that season is closed.

The lakes I like to fish are either a 1/2 mile or longer hike in, or down nasty inclines, so a canoe is out of the question. I love to beat the sunrise, so I will take your early am advice and give it a go.

Will report if there is anything TO report smile

Thanks!
