Ok say you shoot a deer with your bow you draw blood but lose the deer for what ever reason (bad shot coyotes etc). What is the ruling does it count as your deer shot for the year. If so does anyone know what the laws states?? Just for your info this did not happen to me just wondering whats your take on it??

It does not count for your deer. You have a moral and legal code to follow to make a good attempt to retrieve the deer but if you do not find it you cannot put your tag on it. This differs from ducks where a wounded and lost duck does count against your limit, at least I thought I read that somewhere.

Legaly not your deer. Some people will say that yes that is there deer for the year but that's personal choice.

Also just because you draw blood does not mean the deer will die. Deer are pretty tuff, and if the deer was not hit in a vital or gut shoot theres probably a 50/50 change it will surive.
