Flagging geese on the water

Does anyone use flags on the water when hunting geese to get their attention at distances?

I have flagged over water multiple times and have found it extremely productive for getting them to turn your way. What I have found to be helpful is to put a flag on a long pole. I have found this to turn a lot of geese, it can be a hassle to hide or put down when the geese are in close though.

PS it also has helped with ducks as well. Good Luck.
