Duck hunting near Itasca state park/Bad medicine lake...any Info?

My buddy has a cabin near bad medicine. We are going up to winterize the cabin, and I wanna duck hunt. His cabin is on Long lost lake, straight west of Itasca state park. I see a bunch of WMA's on the map. Are those mostly wooded areas for grouse and deer? Are there any sloughs you would recommend? I have a 14ft duck boat with a blind......thanks for any info
