jaymevb
i have an eagle 320 and last night it worked fine for about 2 minutes and from then on showed only 2.6 ft as the depth. it was about 35 degrees and the depth finder was stored inside. i thought it might have been reading some kind of thermocline so i messed with the sensitivity but that didn't help. did it get too cold or is there something wrong with it? wayne123
I would make sure your batter is fully charged because some locators malfunction if the battery is low.
jaymevb
battery was fully charged and ran the trolling motor wide open for an hour after this happened
CAMAN
Did you shut it down and reboot after it happened? My Lowrance X67c does this on occasion, I just reboot and it clears it. I think it stems from the transducer cable getting frayed a couple years ago. You may want to check that also.
jaymevb
i turned it off multiple times and disconnected it from the battery even. if it warms up i'll have to see if it really is that temp sensitive. thanks for the suggestions. eurolarva
LCDs dont like cold weather. Usually it will work but work real slow. When using it during cold weather leave the back light on and when you are anchored and not using it if you can remove it and stick it inside your jacket that will help also

It can be any number of things, most likely a combination of transducer and sensor setting issues.
Ed Carlson
If it don't snap out of it next trip...Start with the Power OFF...then push the ZOOM IN and ZOOM OUT and the power all at the same time..it will reset it.
pulleye16
I have an eagle 420 (I think thats what it is)and always run into issues like that. It will freeze on me, won't pick up anything at all, or will show 100+ feet. Usually i take my hand or rag and wipe off the transducer and more then not that seems to work after a few seconds, which makes me believe it is a transducer issue. I hate mine (came with boat) and plan on just saving some money and purchase a new one next summer to save headache. which then...anyone know of a good GPS / Fish finder combo....? jaymevb
well, i tried it on monday when it was warm and it worked fine so it must just not like cold. i guess i'm going to have to tape handwarmers to it or something from now on when it's below 45. i'm disapointed since i was hoping to use it for ice fishing too.
