National Waterfowl refuge regulations

Recommended Posts

I can not seem to find this info on the HSOforum; fws.gov, so I will ask here.

Can I have decoys out 2 hours before sunrise? The refuge rules do state that is an hour before but they also state that the rules generally match what the states rules are...so did they jut not update the rule yet?

Can I use motorized decoys, robo, lucky ducks?

If you can provide a link to the actual regulations that would be wonderful, otherwise amuse us all with your opinions!

Your best bet is to call the NWR that you are planning on visiting. They generally follow the state regs, but not always, and may have their own special regulations that only pertain to that refuge. Same with WPA's. Go to page 119 of the State Hunters Regulation Handbook. There are general regs, and contact numbers for all the different NWR's/WMD's.

Good luck.
