I saw mid to upper 40's in that area this weekend, but that was on smaller water bodies. From the sounds of it those who are seeing fish are seeing them way down, so plan on using things you can get near 20 feet down. Bulldawgs, big jigs, very slowly rolled spinnerbaits, etc...

i fished deer last friday and the water temp was 54 degrees. We had a few sucker pick ups and a few follows on baits that were worked very slowly. Heard some good reports though, but like Nick said the fish are deeper and slow retrieves seem to be more effective.

it would be worth it to pick up a few medium sized suckers if you can find them anywhere, most bait shops have been selling them as soon as they get them in.
