there rivers in my area are really low and the water temp is fluctuating a lot right now, in the morning the river is ice cold then warms up quiet a bit during the day, last time i was out i got there around 530 6 in the morning and got 5 fish from 2 different holes in about 3 hours off of twister tails, after the river warmed up i couldn't get them to bite. tried shad a stick baits for another 3 hours in a couple more holes and nothing , were they just not that active or should i be trying something else, live bait maybe?

Clean an clear test the stick-baits at night. Colder the water, the slower you retrieve.

Day, try frogs, Waterdogs, Stonecats, 3-4" Bullheads (Where legal), Creek Chubs, Red Tails, larger Fatheads...even crawlers..in or near deeper pools. Night at the head and tail out of the pool and on associated mud/sand flats near the pools with same live baits.

thanks for the bait options, i've tried chubs and fatheads in the summer and gave up on using them for walleyes there because of these bait wasters ; )
