Line?

Just wondering what kind of line works the best for you guys?

I use an open faced spinning reel and im headed up to mille lacs here in a week. gunna do a lot of casting with some big lures! so i was wondering what line would work the best for that situation?!

open faced bail? hmmmm, thats a tough one. you may just want to go with heavy mono for that but keep in mind it will be a pain. I have never fished muskie with an open face reel. Baitcasters work best strung with 80# power pro, stealth, or Vicious. you may be able to use PP with open bail but new its a little stiff.

yea were gunna be doing a lot of casting. i was thinkin powerpro. i just want the line that will be the smoothest cast you know! thank you for the info!

well depending on what # test you want. A smoother casting line may be dacron at 40#. Its black. won't be as stiff. its made by "musky ....." something i forget. but you can't miss it at the store.

Western Filament® Tuf - Line® Duracast Braid Fishing Line. Made specifically for spinning reels. Works really well, better than PowerPro for spinning reels!! If you can find it that's what you should use. Do a web search for it..

sounds good i will do that. were gunna be tossing some big lures so i want the smoothest cast, but either way my arms will be tired

Musky Master... that's the stuff. won't be as stiff but it's quite strong.
