Crossing the border with a gun?

What do you all need to register for the guns to cross the borders? I've looked at there site but it's not all exactly clear. If anyone knows or have crossed with guns it would help out alot thanks

to cross into canada with a gun. first i dont believe you can bring a handgun in. I know with a shotgun you need to have a pel lisence. and I either preregister it up there or do it at the border and pay. It does help to get the canada gun saftey. when i took it it was only a 4 hour class.

You can simply show up at the border and the border guard will ask you if you have your gun paperwork filled out, if you don't you just go inside and get a form and bring it out to your vehicle where the guns are. You fill out the paperwork with info off your drivers lic. and the serial number, model of the gun and pay a few bucks and you are on your way. You can put up to 3 guns on a form. I do it every year and it's very simple.

Thanks Guys!! Me and some people are going up to SK for a waterfowl hunt. There is a 17 year old coming with without his dad with his gun, so my question is can he do the paper work or do we put the gun under our name?? Thanks

You can't put a gun under your name that someone else is hunting with, it is illegal. You can't even borrow your buddy a gun if the paperwork is under your name and his gun broke during a hunt.

Thanks good to know. I've read something about a minors license,do you by chance know if this is this something he is going to have to get??
