I have a stratos with a 91' 150hp FastStrike johnson. Last night while getting to the dock from a 6 mile trip I smelled some rubber melting and a little white smoke was coming from the engine. I took the top off and unscrewed a few screws to find that some wires and alittle plastic box( 3 inches by 4inches ) directly on top of the motor were RED hot and melting. Funny thing is the motor starts and runs just fine still...
The last couple years it hasnt been charging the battery so Im guessing this might be something to do with that mechanism? because everything else still works. Any Idea what this box is?
