cheddar 86
Well one good thing about getting married next weekend is that I get to go to St. Thomas in early October for our honeymoon. My wife and I are going to go deep sea fishing and I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with fishing down there, or even some good charters to go with. I've found a bunch of companies by looking online - but sometimes word of mouth means more to me. I want to go after the big boys (deep sea - probably the north drop). Kinda an out of place question - but some of you guys might have been down there.
jac714
I would think that your hotel concierge would be able to point you in the right direction if you don't get any recommendations here.Enjoy
traveler
I did a few minutes searching a couple saltwater sites I frequent and the best I came up with is "go to St. Johns instead". Apparently it's pretty americanized and not the safest place to wander after dark, by some accounts anyway. Not much on the fishing at all really, although I know I've heard it refernced as a destination a time or two. Report back and let us know how you did... baldrkpt58
We are heading to St. John's in January. St. Thomas is much busier and is the destination for cruise ships. 4/5's of St. Johns is national park and has a laid back atmosphere. Let me know how you do fishing. Have fun!@
cheddar 86
Yeah we knew that St. Thomas was the more Americanized busier island, and normally we are up for roughing it or even doing something like those eco-resorts, but for the honeymoon (bowchickawowow) we were going for the luxury stuff. We will make it out to St. Johns and probably spend an entire day out there exploring. I shall hopefully hook into some big stuff - but even getting out there is somethign I've always wanted to do. New2TheFly
Congrats cheddar. I'm getting married this weeked too, should be an easy aniversary date to remember Nice work getting the wife to go deep sea fishing. My wife to be had two requests for our honeymoon: 1. no camping 2. no fishing.
