I understand that the Vermillion runs through Dakota Co., but there are "No Trespassing" signs all over so a guy really can't fish it. Is there anywhere where a guy can river fish in dakota or scott county for trout or smallies????

thanks and good fishin'

The only place to fishing the vermillion without tresspassing is the park in Farmington. To fish any other part of the river you'll have to ask the landowner if it's ok.

Road crossing are not access points.

hey gutz, that river has some nice trout in it but you would be hard pressed to find them. i fish a couple of spots on the river here and there, somedays you get just a little action others days you can't keep them off your lure. if you want to catch something try a crawler or throw spinners for trout. i catch both browns and bows in that area, good luck to ya. later Dogg

You could be asking for a confrontation, but I believe that as long as you access at a legal point, you can walk to anywhere. The trespassing laws do not extend to the stream-they end at the shore.

My understanding is that as long as your feet are wet you are not tresspassing, so you could walk up or down stream of the park as long as you stay in the water.
