0 meathunter
I did the new update 2.5.0 on my lcx38 i was haveing problems in the weeds and also in water over 40ft in muck not reading or the digital was flashing. I got a new transducer from lowrance to try but the new one has 7 or 8 prongs and the old one has 5 what is up with this? This unit worked good out past the weed line and out to 30ft then the bottom must transition to muck but you would think that it should still read. I could tell how deep it was but no detail and the digital was flashing. I have not tried since the update and new transducer though any thoughts? Sure am glad i bought the extended warranty. I have been dealing with issues for over 2 years on and off with this unit. When this unit works i love it.
0 PerchJerker
I have not tried since the update and new transducer though any thoughts? Not being able to read in 40 fow is most likely a sign of a bad transducer. You are correct, there's a different number of pins in the new transducers. Don't worry about it, they're all like that and it doesn't change any of the functionality. Not being able to read in shallow weeds is most likely a problem with the software, hopefully the new update will take care of that. The few people I've talked with that have done the newest update have not had any problems with it. After you update you'll need to go into your sonar options menu and you'll want to select the shallow water mode and the right model transducer. 0 PTocko
TTT - has anyone done the 2.5.0 update on an LMS-522? I am pretty happy with my unit but I do still lose the bottom in shallow weeds. Not a huge deal but if the new software fixes it - I want to do it. That being said I have heard too many horror stories about Lowrance software updates causing more problems than fixes. I am currently running 2.3.0. Please post experiences with the new update. Thanks. Paul
