Tube Jigs for Lakers

I know people use tube jigs for Lakers while ice fishing. Does anyone use tubes for early ice out lakers while the fish are in shallow water? I don't really see why they couldn't be used. Anyone have any input?

Hi Granny

We use White tube jigs all the time, They work great. We start just after the ice goes out and they work throughout the season. If I were to choose just one bait for lake trout it would have to be a 3" white tube with a 1/2 oz jig. We fish mainly Lower manitou lake with camp manitou and also Pipestone lake at Happy Landing Lodge, if you would like to know more about our trout fishing you can e-mail me at [email protected]
