Trailer wiring needs help.

Our boat trailer (Shorelander 3100 lb all roller that we've had since 1997) blew a fuse on the running lights of both my '07 Silverado and my bother's '05 Trailblazer. We've been able to figure out that the brown wire (running lamps and side marker lamps) is the fuse that was blown so logic would say that somewhere inside there is a short causing the fuses to blow. Does anyone know of a specific place to look where the brown wire connects to all the lights where the short couse be?

thanks - erik

Usually the Tail Light wire (the brown wire) splits off at the Y of the trailer... and runs down both sides of the trailer, so you could have a short in either of those legs.

I'd check from the pigtail to the split first... then it kind of depends.. sometimes there are connectors at the split and you can disconnect one branch from the other and try and isolate which side.

Good Luck!
