jd524
I love Nascar because I love racing period, but I also love several things about Nascar that they don't have to do.Before every race they say a prayer. It is becoming increasingly harder and harder to pay tribute to God in this day and age, but they stand their ground. They don't care what the ACLU or other opponents might think.Nascar always pays tribute to veterans, but it was really special during the 600. I thought it was so cool that during the national moment of silence at 3:00 they stopped the race during green flag running. All cars came to a stop and engines were killed. The teams lined up, and they spectators stood up. They recognized that paying their respects was more important than green flag racing. It's not like they had a committee debate for weeks whether or not they should. What will it do to ratings, how much will it extend the race, blah...blah...blah. They didn't know they were going to rece today until last night, and apparently they were able to immediately recognize that a moment of silence was what they would do. SledNeck
I was kinda upset by the lack of USAF personnel represented at the race track.
