HDS 5 and Universal Sonar/Universal Sonar 2

Alright this is getting crazy, I have been told the HDS5 will work and won't work with the Universal sonar, others say you need the US 2, the only difference between the two sonar hook ups is US Is 3 prong and US2 is 4 prong, is the 4th prong for the temp sensor not even Lowrance or Minnkota support can answer this question for sure so has anybody out there put a HDS 5 on a universal sonar please let me know.....

The same MK adapter used on the Lowrance 520, 522, 510, 500, 334, and 332's should convert the HD's to the US. Just be sure it is a US-1 or US-2 to match your trolling motor.

The twist lock connections on the HD's match the old series, interchangeable. The only restriction you will encounter is no duel beam as US systems are all single 200 KHZ ducers.
