TMF89
Hey guys, so we're heading up to Canada this week, and there's still ice on the lake. Either we're going to be fishing days after ice out, or we'll be breaking/navigating the ice sheets to get to the eye's. Originally we figured we'd be fishing a week plus after ice out, and we were gonna head straight to the rivers and fish the holes since the walleyes would still be in shallow. Now that we're fishing so early/cold that ice is still on the lake, or right out, I'm wondering where we should focus? All help will be appreciated, thanks guys! snagger
Where are you going?I'm heading to Lac Seul on Friday and I'm kind of wondering the same thing. However a few years ago the ice went out a few days before the opener and we hammered them in the current areas where they spawn. They were all prespawn and filled with eggs.My guess is that they will be in the spawning areas staging.Good luck!
