KoopHawk
Going up to Red Lake, CN June 1. Any hints on catching Lake Trout? The ice is off the lake for about 3 weeks. Are they still in the shallows or have they gone deep by then?
Hemlock
Haven't heard much of Red Lake and Lakers, but if it's anything like Lake of the Woods (Canada) yup, generally speaking, they would be in the bays, or possibly on the migration from shallow bays to adjacent depths. Is it strictly a laker trip?
Outfitter17
I agree with Hemlock, I havn't heard much about lakers up there? If its anything like our area, with cool water and only 3 weeks after ice out - the trout should be anywhere from 10' down to 30' down. They will be scattered in the water column some will be in the bays and some will be migrating down to their summer depths. Good Luck.
