Last year I tried chartreuse Gulp maggots/waxies. They seemed to work as good as the live version at times but they didn't seem to work as well at other times. I think I attribute the times with lack of performance to the color more than anything else.

This year I purchase some of the red Alive Maggots, and am expecting good things.

I like to keep a little of everything. Gulp can be dynamite some days and no good others. IMO you really can't beat some wriggly little euros.

As for pike, when jigging you can get away with all kinds of artificials. Tip-ups are pretty much live/dead bait for me.
