Vexilar Dimensions

So I've heard that Vexilars will fit into a 5 gallon bucket, but how tight of a fit is it? I'm trying to make a mount on the front of my atv and will just use the bottom of a bucket of I can get away with it, but I want it nice and secure. I don't have a unit yet, probably won't until the the show in St. Paul, but I wanted to get a head start. Anyone know what the diameter of the bottom is?

its not an exact fit so your will have to strap it down if your bucket height is not to tall. I would think a ten inch height would be perfect if nothing else is going in the bucket

I was actually planning on a mount that will sit a little off of the front rack, and only use a 2-3 inch lip from the bucket. I want it so I can quickly find depth while driving around. I think I'll use a couple smaller bunjee straps to hold it down.
