fishlakeman
Hey all,I did a little searchin for previous posts and didn't see anything, so I apoligize if this question has already come up.I had an old timer at a gun show recently tell me that the best way to protect you firearm from the elements is by using a good car wax on them. Has anyone else tried or heard of this? To my knowledge I don't think it would hurt anything unless it was a cleaner wax with abrasives. I tried it on my old 870 wingmaster thats seen better days and thought it turned out pretty good. What do you guys think??
charliepete2
I've used furniture wax to protect the wood on some of my guns, but not the metal.
irvingdog
Yep, there those that use car wax. In fact, there is a gun cleaner/products manufacturer that also makes a "protectant" for gun metals. You guessed it. it's car wax in a smaller tub.
