7 posts in this topic

For my ice fishing friends...

October 14, 2008 (the day after Monday Night Football: Browns

35 Giants 14)

Hi, Fellow Browns Fans

Good News! The Browns have figured out how to win. Hopefully you got

to see last night's convincing and wonderful victory on Monday Night

Football over the previously undefeated defending champion New York

Giants. We have a two game winning streak as we move forward.

Other Good News! We still have tickets available for our trip to

Cleveland to see the Browns beat the Ravens on Sunday, November 2.

Come see the only team in pro football that has been able to beat the

Giants.

Reality! As of now we have 31 fully paid travelers for our trip. We

really need 35 to break even financially on the trip, so please

consider letting any friends who might be interested in a great value

know about the trip. We have 45 tickets, so we can still add in a

group or two.

Great Value! All for only $210 per person.

Two day trip to Cleveland

You don't need to drive, which frees you up to have a few drinks and

enjoy the friendships

Crown Plaza Hotel a short walk from the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame

A great, gourmet reception hosted by Ron and Rose Rowland on Saturday

afternoon after arrival at hotel

A fun Browns Backers reception later that afternoon with some former

Browns players to mingle with

Hotel a short walk from the stadium for Sunday's game

Seats in the Dawg Pound

Post-game Tailgate Party before beginning our ride home

Games and Contests on the Bus, with prizes

Videos of Browns history and other sports related videos on the bus

Trip Logistics:

Leave from Radisson Hotel, downtown Utica, at 6:15 a.m. Saturday,

November 1 (free parking in the parking garage there for the two days)

Arrive back at Radisson Hotel hopefully just shortly before midnight on

Sunday, November 2

If you and/ or any friends want to join in on this great opportunity,

please respond to this email address.

Feel free to call the number below with any questions.

Thanks,

Wouldn't mind having some of my friends including you and your son having a good time with our gang in Cleveland. Have you ever been on a bus trip? There are also plenty of shopping opportunities for the girlfriend and wives, nice mall kitty corner from the hotel.

Owners...Some are about the dollar but they did win a superbowl in Baltimore. Maybe Art Modell thought the only chance they would ever win a superbowl was moving out of Cleveland.. Oh boy that didn't sound right...

    •   Sounds like the House of Reps. who pulled their AHCA (Ryan/Trump  Care) so when their fellow Rep. voted it down every one would know who was against or for it. Now none of them have to explain how they voted, the same as how some on here weasel out of explaining their statements, by reverting to name calling.
    • caught my first fish with a lamprey on it and also got a 35 inch pike on a salamander.

    •   Bafflegab! Hot darn! I like that! Is that like my psychobabble, aka Mayospeak , or to quote Thurber, Pussgrapple or even Cussgravy? I haveta remember that!  "Bafflegab found in this one"?! Go look on the health thread, where yer buddy juicedup gets yammering away at you! ! Now THERE's some  real balderdash and twaddle! Yes, some good, informative threads used to exist here! Once in awhile, you can even run across one! Gotta look hard!
    • The bite was on last week. With 4 guys we caught over 700 fish in 3.5 days.  And I don't care if anyone believes me or not.  Actually 700 is probably a conservative estimate because we had to have averaged at least 50 fish per person per day and it was probably much more than that.  Yes some of them were 10" saugers but there were many 16 to 20"+ walleye and the crappie size was the nicest I've seen in 4 years with no keepers under 12" and several 13-14" with 2 at 15.25".  All of the pavement pounding and scouting this winter and last week really paid off on this trip!  This is the most hardcore group of guys I fish with and they really know how to put the smackdown on these fish.
    •   If you guys need fishing advice just ask. I've never had a problem sharing.
    • Any time I have ever tried that it creates havoc with the sonar until it floats back up the hole and is removed but if anyone has a fix for this let me know.
    • Nonetheless there are some forums here which actually have active informative discussions without all of the bafflegab found in this one.
    • Great pictures by all that have shared thus far!    Three of my best or my favorites anyway...
    • I was out and about wetland areas this weekend and saw lots of waterfowl.  Many trumpeter swans, high flying tundra swans, gadwalls, shovelers, a few wood ducks, ring necks, hooded mergansers, , a pair of goldeneyes, and a loon.  I also saw many sandhill cranes.
