Meet the Merlin's...

An old friend of mine called me up and asked whether or not I'd be interested in seeing a family of fledgling Merlin's that apparently were still in the nest. My answer to him was short and to the point....I told him NO, that I wasn't interested....ya right! It took all of fifteen minutes to drive over to his home and visit the Merlin family.

Upon my arrival, my friend told me about a fledgling blue jay that was killed by the female merlin only an hour prior to my arrival! (ah what goes around, comes around, right Mr. blue jay)

Anyway, I only had a few minutes to capture whatever photo's presented themselves as the sky was quickly clouding over. I went back yesterday only to find that the fuzzy headed fledgling's had left the nest and have now taken to the wing.
