I bought this spot hoping to use it on the boat. The sheet that came with it does not say any wattage or anything. Do I dare plug this monster into the cig liter on my boat? Or do I need to upgrade with some heavir gage wires? Anyone use this lite? I plugged it in on the boat dry land with out the motor running, no lite. Does it need to be running?

The socket might be hooked up to the ignition switch, but I doubt it. Try plugging something else into it. It's probably a blown fuse or loose connection. Cig lighter plugs in boats often get corroded and fail.

I wouldn't think that you'd need to run any heavier wires. It should work fine.

I will try that. So you don't think the wires will get too hot running that light?

Unless you've got really thin wires, I don't think a spotlight will draw enough juice to cause a problem, even a 3 million CP one.
