Fuse for Portable Flasher?

3 posts in this topic

A fuse?! Maybe I should have one inline but I don't. The current draw on a FL-8 is claimed at 200ma. That's less than a quarter of an amp. So, I'd say about a 2 amp fuse; maybe even smaller.

I am rigging up my Zercom flasher as a portable this weekend. Using a standard 12V "gel-cell" battery and I will be installing an inline fuse. What are people using for fuses? Amp size, fast burn vs slow burn, etc. I have pre-selected a 6 amp fast burn but want to be sure I have done this correctly. Any comments? I am certain what applies to a Vexlar or small graph applies to my Zercom. Thanks in advance. Any other considerations I should know about?
