Looks like rifles will be allowed in all of Dunn Co this year for deer season:

Rifles legal for deer hunting will now be allowed in all of Dunn County and portions of Shawano County west of County Hwy. J for all 2009 gun deer seasons, except during the designated 10-day muzzleloader season.

Rifles have been allowed for deer hunting in the portion of Dunn County north of Hwy 170, and the portion of Shawano County north of Hwy. 29 for several years. However, rifle hunting for deer is still prohibited in the area of Shawano County which is east of County Hwy. J and south of Hwy 29.

The complete story can be found in the DNR news: http://dnr.wi.gov/news/weekly.asp#art7

See page 18 in the "2009 Wisconsin Deer Hunting Regulations" online to find the updated map on firearm restricted areas: http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/wildlife/regs/Deer09regs14-21.pdf.

Regulations found on the internet will reflect the new changes, but hard-copy regulations in print contain the old map before the official changes were approved.
