Please help Johnson 1955 25 hp

I am finally getting my first boat of my own and I am getting my grandpas old flat boat. The motor that he had on his boat was a 1955 electric start Johnson 25 hp. The motor ran great the last time it was in the water, but it has been siting in storage for around 8 years untouched. Now I am wondering around how much it would be worth? And second I am sure it would need some work after not running for as long as it has, how much work would be need to get it running after it sat for as long as it did?

How much would it be worth? Not a ton... it's probably worth more to you than it would be to someone else.

How much work? You'd very likely have to rebuild / clean out the carbs, after that it's tough to say for sure.. it depends on how it was stored.
