Strikmaster mag 2000 wont spin when applying pressure

My auger starts right up and spins but when i'm pushing it down on the ice it doesn't spin. Any suggestions? Thanks

Stripped gears in gearcase.

Call Strikemaster or bring to a authorized repair center.

yea sounds like something in the gearcase

Sounds like the exact same problem I was having. As soon as I put any pressure on it to cut, it would stop spinning. I took it apart and found that a couple of tips were broke off the teeth on the gear. I got a new gear and went ahead and replaced the clutch and springs as well. It cuts like a champ once again. Your looking at about $45 to do what I did. It really isn't that difficult to do yourself. Good luck!

After using this auger hardcore for the past 15 years, I don't think sticking $45 into it is to bad!!
