Buliding bows

I was wondering if anyone out there has attempted to build a recurve or longbow? I see there are some companies that offer books and videos on the subject. I try to make as much equipment as I can, I find it relaxing. I just started building my own fishing rods.

Check out Archery Talk.com and search on Traditional archery for other sources on bow building. I have seen a lot of information on the net about building bows so it shouldn't be hard to find some.

I'll be cutting some hickory in the next couple weeks for bow staves and will be attempting to make my first selfbow. I'll probably cut some black locust and ironwood also.

I've noticed a company named Bingham? has a video out on building trad bows. Has any one seen it? They also provide glass and other stuff needed to build trad bows. It seems like a video would be a good way to learn.
