Hunter II Take Down

The Chek-Mate Hunter II Take-Down Recurve arrived in the mail yesterday! 62" 54#@28". I shot it a few times in the garage last night and it is one smooth shootin bow! Can't wait to shoot up the 3-D's this summer!

I shot some 2216s thru it last night and they seemed to shoot well though I'll try some 2018s also. I've been thinking about trying some grizzly sticks though from what I've read they are spined a bit heavier than what I'd want. I shot ramin thru my patriot and so have been tossing the wood idea around too. Too many choices. I'll probably start out with aluminum for the convenience. Hopefully a 2018 with a Zwickey Eskilite 4 blade will shoot well.

Bog, congrats on the new bow! I know what it's like waiting. My last recurve took 8 months to build. When it finally came, I was so excited, I almost slept with it. grin.gif
What kind of arrows do you shoot? I know we just had the discussion on carbon arrows, do you shoot them?

Well, I went and bought some 70# spine POC's tapered them to 30" BOP and glued on some 160 grain field points. I haven't weighed them yet but figure they must weigh right around 500 grains. Shot on Sunday and am very pleased with their flight. Think I'll stick with wood for the recurve.
