Stitches in pad of foot question

While I was up at Red Lake fishing for a long wknd my lab pup (8 months old) jumped up on my sons dresser and got one of the barbs on a musky lure stuck in the pad of his front paw. Wife had to find a neighbor who was home during the day on Friday to help her lift the dog into the kennel in the car. Three calls later she finally finds someone to help out (while she freaking out). To make a long story short, 3 stitches in her pad and a nick close to her eye, she's fine. Now a stitch or two has pulled out, it's been 3 day's and it looks like it still is mostly closed-small opening along edge of paw-it might be a hair longer than 1/8" open on the end. Should I take her in or do you think she will be ok?? Thanks for your thoughts.

Should be fine Bill,

Just keep an eye on the cut and make sure it doesn't open back up. A little bit is fine... They will generally heal on their own, just takes a little longer being on the bottom of the foot and the fact it is being used all the time.

Good Luck!

Ken

Thanks Ken. She's been great, but lately she's getting into some stuff-waste baskets, klennex boxes, t/p, etc. Need to get her out and exercise her more. Just got laid off for 6 weeks, so, I guess I'll have more time, plus, the warmer temps will get me out.
