Underwater cameras with color!!!

Do the color cameras actually show color down deep?

As a scuba diver, I know that the color spectrum is lost the deeper you go. If you use a light the color comes back.

Do the inferred lights on the cameras bring the color spectrum back into view?

The only color underwater cameras I'm familiar with are Marcums and they don't use IR lights, just LED.

Yah, Deitz Dittrich told me in one of my other forum topics that they use led.

Another question that I have on the cameras with the led lights is, are they legal in MN with the artificial lights on them? It is illegal in MN to use artificial light in the water, isn't it?

I thought of that this weekend well I was out using my camera with infrared. If its not whats to stop some one from changing the bulb on the led ones from a white light to a green or blue one. And yes it is illegal to use artificial lights in MN and I believe OH or Idaho, I know MN and one other state other wise it is legal in all other states.
