mnhunter79
Its a 98 chev. 1500 5.7liter vortec What its doing- Last weekend i replaced the fuel pump and filter. Since then it cranks over a bunch of times before it starts. (Runs and drives fine) Before the pump and filter replacement, it would turn over 1-2 time and start right up. Question- why is this? Air in the line? How to fix? THANK YOU
Jeremy airjer W
What brand of pump did you install. I would bet the new pump is allowing pressure to bleed off. Or it could be a coincidence and the pressure regulator started leaking. Next time you try to start it cycle the key on and off a couple of times (on five seconds, off five seconds, etc) then crank it over. It should start up a lot faster.
