Tabor Lake - crappies?

Recommended Posts

I have a relative who recently moved to this lake and he's asked me to help him find the crappies this weekend. From what I know about this lake it doesn't seem like it is going to be worth my time as it seems like mostly a bass lake with small pike and panfish. Has anyone ever seen decent crappies out of this lake? Crappie fishing is my specialty in this area and I'd be glad to share some info on a couple of better lakes in the area in exzchange for some info on this one. I'm planning on starting in the North bay and then focusing on the "big" finger of weed just south of there. Any help would be great. I prefer e-mailing info rather than posting when talking about crappies.

Thanks!

I have fished this spring fed lake one time. I found tons of Blugills. Some nice 8-9 inch fish. Try the point on the east side of the lake just south of the North Bay. The point drops off nice on the right side when facing shore and I caught over one hundred bluegills one afternoon using wax worms, a small ice jig and a slip bobber.
No Crappies, some bass and some pike.
Good Luck,
