Copying a cassette to CD

Luvsoutdoors

Question

Have a cassette of special family event (nothing copyrighted) and would like to save it on something more playable and durable. Looked at websites and not interested in purchasing software and this is a one time deal. Does anyone know of a place possibly in Mankato area that I can have this done--I'm not too techy and don't want to wreck the tape. Thanks for any help or info you may have.

If you have a cassette player, a computer with a line input on the sound card or motherboard, a $5 cable from Radio Shack, and a free program called Audacity, it's a piece of cake.

If not, maybe check with a local VoTech or school to see if someone in the AV department could help. Heck, if I was in the area I'd do it.
