The 8th annual Doug Horsted Memorial Ice Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, January 31, at Lake Madison. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Hillside Resort on the southeast shore of the lake. Fishing hours are from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Entry fee is $10.00 and that fee will get you in the largest fish contest and one door prize ticket. Additional door prize tickets can be purchased as well. The grand door prize is a $250.00 shopping certificate to Dakota Angler and several other door prizes will be given away as well. Cash prizes of $50.00 and $25.00 will be given to the two largest fish in three separate categories (walleye, panfish, and northern).

Prizes will be announced back at the Hillside following fishing hours and lunch can be purchased at there as well. All entry fees and a portion of the lunch proceeds will be donated to the Avera McKennan Foundation to benefit cancer patients and their families.
